at my old church in Klamath Falls AA would meet on the same nights as College Group. I don't think this was planned. I had a couple really cool conversations with some of the people at the AA meetings as we would enter/exit the building at the same time as me. It is really cool to see people trying to make a difference in their lives, and realizing that they are not better than anyone else. Also, just seeing people smile as they are leaving the building. That is Jesus.

My sister was married to an alcoholic, and he wouldn't seek help. He got at least 3 or 4 DUI, and even crashed his car into the Bend Sheriff's wife's car. Often times the family would come over, and my sister would be bailing him out of jail. How embarassing, and, he doesn't think he has a problem.

It makes my heart sink when i find that people are disappointed that they are not sharing Jesus at AA meetings... I would think that working to cure yourself from an addiction to alcohol and meeting people in similar situations is enough to work on! :)

and besides, Jesus speaks through actions... just showing love, is sharing Jesus. :)

AJ, I agree that Jesus loves AA. AA was a better church to my sister than most of the churches she attended. Even though most AA groups are not blatant about naming the name of Jesus, many are doing what Jesus came to do - to set free those who are held captive and oppressed. Even Jesus reminded us that actions speak louder than words, so acting like Jesus is much more powerful than merely speaking His name. I thank God for AA because I now have my sister back.
